Friday:Well here we are at Crows Nest once again. We love this place, mainly for the food, but it is also a nice peaceful relaxing park with great amenities.
The trip out was good. We travelled from Brisbane via Esk as it was shorter than going through Toowoomba.
It was nice to catch up with our friends again around happy hour, but we tried not to eat too much as we knew a huge meal was going to be had around 7pm.
And what a meal it was. Everything was perfect and we all did our best to gorge ourselves into rolly polly little telly tubbies.
Saturday:Everyone went for a drive into town to look through the folk village and sightsee in general. Pete set up his set top box in his van (which made a huge difference to the reception) and I changed our broken DVD over for a new one (again). I think that's No. 3 now. Lucky they're cheap. Judy left her camera behind, which Chris happened to find, so she amused herself by taking pictures of different members of the group's body parts. It was very funny when Judy was going through her pics on the camera later at dinner and found pictures of ears, eyes, tongues and even bear bums (won't mention who's that was) amongst her holiday snaps.
The gang returned just after lunch and we spent most of the afternoon looking at different maps and working out some nice places to visit for our FNQ trip coming up next year.
We watched the rest of a video before heading over to dinner again, which was just as yummy and filling as last night. It was time to play another trick on Judy at dinner and when she wasn't looking we hid her wine glass and replaced it with one we had filled with water and added a couple of drops of Bundy Rum out of a finished can to add some colour. Looked very real I thought. We waited for what seemed forever before she finally took a sip and the face she pulled was hysterical. It must have tasted awful. We all laughed like crazy.
After dinner we all felt very full (again) and retired to our vans
Sunday:We agreed last night we would get together this morning around 10 am for a cook-up brunch. This allowed the old folk amongst us (that's me) to have a sleep in.
Most of us slowly packed up during the morning and by the time we'd finished our cook-up we were all but packed and ready to go.
Arrived home around 4:15 pm. All in all a very pleasant weekend.
