Name: Camooweal Billabong
Address/Town: Barkly Highway (A2)
If you are heading west from Camooweal, cross the bridge over the Georgina River and take the first turn left. Cross over the grid and follow the dirt road for approximately 1 km and keep to the left.
Sites: Undesignated grassed areas beside the Georgina River/billabong. Some shaded areas and plenty of room to space yourself away from others. Would take big rigs.
Amenities: None really except for some wheelie garbage bins at the far end. Be self sufficient.
The area is about 2km from Camooweal where fuel and meals are available at the Shell Roadhouse. Drinking water is also available near the Shell Roadhouse and the large truck stop park. There is also a BP in town.
Pet Friendly: Yes
Mobile Phone Reception: Yes
Comments: The white and blue water lillies were in full bloom on the billabong which was lovely. Why not visit Camooweal Caves National Park whilst in the area.
